Johnson Canyon in Snow Canyon State Park

Snow Canyon State Park
2.0 miles total (1 mile there, 1 mile back)
Go to the south entrance of Snow Canyon near Ivins and park in the very first dirt lot to the left as you enter. Cross the street and follow the trail straight!

This hike is gorgeous! Especially after a good southern Utah rain! It’s all relatively flat terrain (minus sections of lava rock and sand bed) and easy for kids of all ages to hike.

To the arch is about .7 miles, you can turn around and go back, or finish at the end of the canyon which is 1.0 mile. We like to go to the end and have a snack since it’s a pretty open space once you get there.

This hike is closed March-October for tortoise migration. The best time to hike it is NOW since it’s open!

Please remember to leave no trace and be mindful of the weather – don’t go when there’s a chance of flash flooding.

Cost to hike:
$15 per vehicle for Utah day pass;
$20 for non-Utah resident

Hope you have fun when you go!
