Anasazi Petroglyphs Hike
Ivins, Utah
3339 Old highway 91
AKA Tempi’po’op Hike or Santa Clara Petroglyphs

2.5 miles round trip
Easy/moderate (more on the easy side but a gradual incline the entire hike up)
About 1.0 mile to the petroglyphs, can continue on to see the Santa Clara river overlook or just head back down.
This was a really cool historical hike to go on! It was fun to teach our oldest about petroglyphs and that they were messages written a long time ago. There’s a sign at the top explaining a lot about them. It also ends with amazing views of the Santa Clara River.
This hike was relatively easy with younger kids, but had a good incline the whole hike up. Our kids were worn out and hot at the end as there is no shade the entire hike, but we had a lot of fun!
The prehistoric farmstead was interesting to see – we didn’t think it was super worth looking at, so don’t worry if you miss it.
The petroglyphs were so cool! Easy to spot out and fun to explore. There are more to see if you climb down the where the big rocks are at the top of the hike.
We used the @alltrails app to find the parking lot and trail map. It’s one of our favorite trail apps to use!
We had a lot of fun on it! The way down had amazing views of the Red Mountain too!
